Advance control modes to maximize performance
Several advance control modes for the sludge feed pump, polymer dosage equipment, and V-Screw speed constantly work together to optimize and stabilize the dewatering performance. This further reduces the required manpower for operation, decreases polymer consumption, and ensures that the machine is always processing the maximum amount of sludge. Having all parameters connected and controlled from a single point enhances user-friendliness and avoids complicated setup procedures.
Clog-free, even with oily sludge
The machine has a filter element (cylinder) that consists of alternating layers of Fixed Rings and Moving Rings, with spacers in between to maintain a gap that allows filtrate to escape. Inside the cylinder, a single screw conveys and subsequently pressurizes the sludge through the cylinder towards the end plate. As the screw rotates, it drives the moving rings up and down, which cleans the filtrate gap, creating a clog-free and self-cleaning mechanism. Only a very small amount of water at low pressure is periodically used to gently clean the rings from the outside. The design delivers stable dewatering performance even with oily sludge.
No pre-thickening required
The VOLUTE™ integrates both thickening and dewatering into a single machine. This allows direct dewatering of both high- and low-concentration sludges without any pre-thickening system. A feed concentrations as low as 0.5% TS is possible. This enables dewatering of aerobic sludge straight from the aeration tank. This eliminates the costs for construction and operation of thickening and storage systems and reduces odors. On top, it reduces phosporus and nitrogen emmissions back into the waste water treatment plant, by dewatering the sludge when it’s as fresh as possible.
