Where did AMCON's competence in sludge dewatering come from?
AMCON has been in the business of wastewater treatment since 1974. As time passed, we focused on sludge dewatering. At that time, centralised sludge dewatering was dominant in Japan. There was no commercially available, efficient, easy-to-use technology for small and medium-sized WWTPs. That was a challenge we accepted. In the 90s, we introduced the world to the first multi-disc screw press and gave it the name VOLUTE™, thereby bringing a completely new category of screw presses to the market. Since then, we have enabled thousands of WWTPs to dewater their sludge at source, eliminating the pointless, expensive and risky tankering of undewatered sludge.
Proof that VOLUTE™ dewatering presses have gained the attention and trust of customers is the existence of countless copies.

We have successfully developed the VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press, something that has never existed before. When things don’t go to plan, or the machine and ancillary equipment simply are in need of periodic maintenance, our global After-sales team and local partners offer you prompt support and “boots on the ground” to ensure that your production and wastewater treatment processes are not affected. Their expertise extends beyond the mechanics of the units, so they are able to troubleshoot situations, advice on treatment processes, retrain operators, and optimize machine performance.
We also offer service packages like periodic inspections so you can rest assured your equipment is taken care of.
Our machines are built to last. Their lifespan is calculated in decades. AMCON’s made products therefore come with a two-year warranty as standard to give you peace of mind after installation, with extended warranty options available for up to five years.
