Background

This Danish plant is planning to turn municipal waste into an ecological fuel source. For this, the customer aims to dewater biological and primary sludge, either individually or mixed together, to achieve a cake with a dry solid content ranging from 12% to 15%, suitable for the next steps of the process.

Installation Details

VOLUTE DUO™ RVP-501 demonstrated excellent performance with a throughput of 55-70 kg-DS/h for WAS sludge and 150-230 kg-DS/h for primary sludge, producing high-quality cake dryness (11-13.3% for WAS and 17-27.1% for primary sludge). As for the mixed sludge, the cake dryness was around 15%. One of the advantages of the VOLUTE™ technology is the possibility to vary the machine settings in order to expand the range of achievable results (lower or higher) and satisfy the exact needs of the customer.

These results as well as the low OPEX and maintenance requirements of VOLUTE DUO™ make it a suitable solution, supporting the WWTP’s objective of developing greener and more sustainable waste management practices.
