- Drinking Water Treatment Plant
Background
The customer at a drinking water treatment plant sought to replace their outdated centrifuge dewatering technology. Through a pilot test conducted at a drinking water treatment plant in France, the suitability of the VOLUTE DUO™ dewatering technology for the customer’s sludge was evaluated.
Installation details
During the pilot test, the VOLUTE DUO™ RVP-241 demonstrated excellent performance, achieving a dryness of up to 27% (average 24-25% DSC) for the produced cake. The unit was capable of processing a throughput of 15-25 kg-DS/h. Filtrate quality was excellent, with a capture rate exceeding 99%.
Considering the high inorganic content of the sludge (>70%), VOLUTE DUO™ stands out as the most suitable long-term replacement for the existing centrifuge dewatering technology. Its two advantages – low risk of blockage and reduced OPEX and maintenance costs make it a favorable option for the customer.
