Problem:

Ishikawa Stockbreeding, Inc. faced problems with labor and maintenance works accompanied with the handling of excess sludge generated from their pig manure wastewater treatment plant. Before installing VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press, the excess sludge had been treated by all of the workers in the farm through a series of processes: pumping the sludge, carrying out, and disposing. These time-consuming and burdensome works had been regarded as major issues for the farm.

After a thorough examination of various types of sludge dewatering equipment in terms of performance, cost, and operational easiness, they chose VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press. VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press, with its clog-free, self-cleaning structure, allows fully-automatic operation, considerably minimizing their burdensome works.

As a result, they now have enough time for their main work, which is taking care of pigs rather than sludge. Additionally, they now make compost out of the sludge cake discharged from VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press using a composting unit. The compost made is sold as a product, and they now pay “zero cost” for sludge disposal.
