Background

The German Railways Maintenance Center in Cottbus specializes in the conversion, modernization, regular maintenance, and accidental repairs of rolling stocks, generating wastewater with high grease, oil, lubricant, preservative, and washing water content. Daily, the facility produces 3-4 m3 of sludge with changing solids concentration and composition.

The customer established a new wastewater treatment line and chose the VOLUTE™ dewatering press for sludge dewatering due to its efficiency in treating greasy and oily sludge. Moreover, VOLUTE™ demonstrates low electricity and rinsing water consumption. According to the customer, “We are satisfied with the installation. The adjustment of settings is very easy, so we can quickly react to any sludge concentration change. The throughput is perfect for our process, and the dewatered sludge is easy to handle. VOLUTE™ is small in size but big in performance.”
