Origin of the Company Name and Logo

Amenity + Convenience = AMCON

AMCON: The name “AMCON” combines “AMenity” (comfortable environment) and “CONvenience” (convenient system) to reflect our corporate philosophy of providing amenities and convenience beyond expectation.
Logo: Our logo represents “an eye of technology” and “an eye of trust,” symbolizing our commitment to using advanced technology and reliable service to continuously monitor and support our customers’ facilities.

Corporate History

1970 –
1974 Nov. Established Environmental Facility Center Co., Ltd. in Meguro-Ku, Tokyo.
Septic tank maintenance services for wastewater treatment facilities and apartment complexes.
1979 May Set up the Institute of Technology. Started measurement certification business.
1980 –
1981 Jun. Started a mobile dewatering service using a mobile dewatering truck.
Dec. Opened the Machida plant in Tokyo.
1982 Apr. Started manufacture and sales of the “Belt-press-type Sludge Thickener KM Series”.
1983 Apr. Started plumbing inspection business and pump business.
1984 Sep. Completed construction of the headquarters building.
Oct. Started 24-hour remote monitoring service for building facilities
1987 Apr. Started maintenance business for fire equipment, air-conditioners, etc.
Oct. Changed the company name to AMCON INC.
1990 –
1991 Apr. Started manufacture and sales of the “VOLUTE™ Thickener MS Series” and the “VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press VS Series”.
1992 Feb. Obtained a patent for “sludge water solid-liquid separator,” the basis for the VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press.
1992 Mar. Started manufacture and sales of new “VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press and Thickener”
1993 Feb. Started sales of the “Hybrid V Polymer Flocculant”
1994 Jun. Started pilot test of dewatering performance jointly with Japan Sewage Works Agency
1995 Jul. Started the official joint research with Japan Sewage Works Agency
Theme “Direct dewatering method of sludge in an OD reaction tank”
Sep. Moved the Machida plant in Tokyo to Kohoku-ku in Yokohama.
1996 Apr. Started manufacture and sales of sludge dewatering fermentation system “Dell Compo”.
1997 Apr. Started manufacture and sales of the ” VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press Small-Scale Municipal Model MS Series”.
2000 –
2000 Jul. Our products listed in Japan Sewage Works Agency’s “Standard Specifications”.
2001 Mar. Obtained ISO 9001 certification (VOLUTE Division)
Apr. Started manufacture and sales of the “VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press EC Series”.
2003 Apr. Started manufacture and sales of the “Solapy Dryer SP Series”.
2004 Jan. Completed construction of the headquarters building in Yokohama. Moved the headquarters from Nakameguro, Tokyo to Kohoku-ku, Yokohama.
Jun. Started manufacture and sales of the “Twin VOLUTE Dewatering Press TV Series”.
Sep. Started manufacture and sales of the “VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press ES Series”.
2006 Oct. Established the US-based subsidiary company, AMCON NA, INC.
2007 Mar. Established the China-based subsidiary company, AMCON (Yixing) Environmental Protection Science & Technology Co. Ltd.
Nov. VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press won a bronze medal at the “2007 China International Industry Fair”.
2008 May Opened “suisitubunseki.com” a website specializing in water quality analysis.
2009 Jan. Certified as a “Yokohama Kachigumi Enterprise.”
Feb. Started manufacture and sales of the “VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press ES-350 Series”.
Apr. Included in “Japan’s 300 Vibrant Monozukuri (Manufacturing) SMEs” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
2010 –
2010 Nov. Established the second China-based subsidiary company, AMCON (Fujian) Environmental Protection Equipment Co., Ltd.
2011 Apr. Established the Czech-based subsidiary company, AMCON Europe s.r.o.
May Started manufacture and sales of the “VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press VDC Series”.
Aug. Certified as a “Yokohama Chizai Mirai Enterprise.”
2012 Jun. Started manufacture and sales of the VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press VDS Series.
2015 Mar. VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press won Innovation Award at “WEX Global Forum 2015”.
2016 Jun. Started manufacture and sales of the “Polymer Make-up System AP Series”.
Sep. Established the Czech-based subsidiary company CHEM.ENGI s.r.o.
Provided solutions to optimize the wastewater treatment process.
Nov. Started manufacture and sales of the “VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press GS Series” and the “VOLUTE™ Mobile Dewatering Truck MV Series”.
2018 Jan. Multi-Disk Screw Press Dewatering Machine type-II including DW series (II-E type) and MW series (II-M type) selected in “Japan Sewerage Works Agency authorized new technology, group I”.
Jul. Started manufacture and sales of the “VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press DW Series”.
2019 Feb. Obtained a patent of VOLUTE DUO™ Sludge Dewatering Press.
Apr. Established the Germany-based subsidiary company AMCON Deutschland GmbH.
Jul. Started manufacture and sales of the “VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press FS Series”.
Aug. Started manufacture and sales of the “VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press MW Series”.
2020 –
2020 May Completed construction of the Yokohama Assembly Factory.
Oct. Redesigned “suisitubunseki.com” a website specializing in water quality analysis.
May VOLUTE DUO™ – frictionless twin screw sludge dewatering press introduced to the market for the first time.
2021 Sep. 11 year anniversary since establishing the European subsidiary AMCON Europe s.r.o. in Prague.
2022 Nov. AMCON Conference takes place in Prague.
